An Unexpected Urban Oasis – June 2018
I can thoroughly recommend this unexpectedly lovely urban oasis in Perth – the unusually named Tomato Lake which is a haven for wetland birds, especially the Australian White Ibis – there is huge (and noisy!) colony in residence at close quarters to visitors so a great place for the keen photographer to visit. Dogs are allowed on leads too.
It is popular with families especially at weekends and it has a cafe with very reasonably priced drinks and food. This was our first visit but we will definitely return.
I think this may be a young Australasian Grebe!
